Sports Force Parks Breaks Ground in Ohio

 

Sports Force Parks, an official partner of US Lacrosse and a supporting partner of the US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model, broke ground on a new facility today. The Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center is located in Sandusky, Ohio and is slated to open in 2017.


Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center, a high end youth sports tournament park . The premier youth sports tournament facility consists of nine multi-purpose, synthetic turf fields, four NCAA regulation baseball fields, a championship baseball and softball stadium, eight NCAA regulation soccer and lacrosse fields, sport-specific training areas, and an ADA-accessible community use field.


The park also includes a “great lawn” and promenade with additional activities for the entire family, including miniature golf, a ropes adventure course, a bungee trampoline challenge, playground activities, unique food & beverage options and more.


Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center will be managed by Sports Force Parks.

Phase two of the Cedar Point Sports Center will see the introduction of a new Erie Metroparks experience, with development of the land at the waterfront with biking trails, scenic spaces to relax and unparalleled views of Lake Erie and Cedar Point in the distance.


Cedar Point Sports Center is a team effort between Cedar Point, The Sports Force, Lake Erie Shores & Islands, the City of Sandusky, Erie County and the Erie Metroparks. Additional support is provided by Lake Erie Shores & Islands immediate past-president, Greg Hill and attorney Majeed Makhoulf of Berns Ockner in Cleveland.


Construction on Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center will begin at a groundbreaking ceremony on April 8 and continue throughout the summer months. Completion is scheduled for the fall. The spring and summer of 2017 will be the inaugural season.
